Pivot is a major part of the governing therapeutic approach utilized, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT guides people to accept the current reality including internal experiences without avoiding or suppressing them in order to take meaningful action. The various components of ACT all come together to facilitate psychological flexibility. The essence we wanted to capture here is the power of pivoting in one's life. As a practice, we aspire to pivot with the demands of today’s world by providing services like in person Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). We have a unique understanding that the active agent of change is working together. We value this through our innovative collaborations in and out of the therapy room. Here at Pivot, we know the power to make a life pivot is within reach.
Pivot specializes in the many faces and phases of anxiety. While our main theraputic approach is ACT, we have a psychodynamic foundation informing our practice. The defenses of our younger selves are in service of yesterday and create interference with today. Perfectionism and fear are containers created by anxiety that propel the underlying motivation for the same behaviors and relationship patterns.
Anxiety can be avoidance of situations and internal experiences such as thoughts and emotions. Anxiety can take the form of decision paralysis from major life transitions to what’s for dinner. Power and control are anxieties best allies through the experience of helplessness. This happens when power and control are displaced on external circumstances and others. Anxiety can look like burnout and performance pressures at work or in relationships. Whether it’s an attachment issue or a deadline for a project, the experience is anxiety.

We take a direct approach geared towards activating consciousness through decision making. More than activating in the behavioral sense, we are looking to activate consciousness in the now. Once you have the awareness of the power within your choice that’s when it translates to changes in actions. Life presents us with opportunities that seem the same and in reality it is a new opportunity. We will be the compassionate reminder that you can choose something else.
Our anxiety treatment sessions are designed to help clients overcome anxiety disorders, such as generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and social anxiety disorder. We use evidence-based treatments, such as ACT, to help clients address their symptoms and develop long-term coping skills.
Our stress management sessions are designed to teach clients practical skills and strategies to manage stress more effectively. We help patients identify the sources of their stress and develop coping mechanisms to reduce its impact on their daily lives.
Our life transitions sessions help clients navigate major life changes, such as divorce, retirement, or career changes. We provide patients with the support and guidance they need to move through these transitions with confidence and clarity.
Our depression treatment sessions are designed to help patients overcome depression and improve their mental health and well-being. We use evidence-based treatments, such as ACT, to help patients address their symptoms and develop long-term coping skills.
Our self-esteem and confidence sessions help patients build a positive self-image and develop greater confidence in themselves and their abilities. We help clients identify negative self-talk and belief patterns and replace them with more positive and empowering ones.
Our mind-body wellness sessions help patients cultivate greater awareness of the mind-body connection and develop practices to support their overall health and well-being. We offer a range of mind-body techniques, such as mindfulness, yoga, and meditation, to help patients reduce stress, improve sleep, and enhance their overall quality of life.
The times in life when the existential questions do not let you rest and demand an answer. These BIG questions deserve time, attention, and a response from you. Let's be curious about it together.
